Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how EIDOS Foundation (“EIDOS”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the UNFINISHED website (unfinished.ro) and, where applicable, in the UNFINISHED mobile application (together, the “Platform”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. They contain a string of characters that allows the site to recognise your browser on subsequent visits. Similar technologies (such as pixels, scripts and local storage) are used for comparable purposes; we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional Platform. All other cookies are set only with your prior consent, in accordance with the GDPR and Romanian Law no. 506/2004, and you may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 8.

2. STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES

These are required for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They do not require your consent.

  • WordPress session and authentication cookies (e.g. wordpress_*, wp-settings-*) — set only when you log in to secure areas of the site; they keep you signed in for the duration of your session.
  • Cloudflare security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm, cf_clearance) — set by Cloudflare, which protects the Platform against malicious traffic and automated abuse (including the Turnstile challenge service). Typical lifetime: from 30 minutes up to a few days.

3. ANALYTICS AND PERFORMANCE

  • Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google Tag Manager) — helps us understand how visitors use the Platform (pages visited, approximate location, device type). Cookies: _ga and _ga_H7937NS2R1, lifetime approximately 13 months. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC.
  • Hotjar — helps us understand how visitors interact with pages (aggregated heatmaps, session insights). Cookies: _hj* family, lifetime from session up to 12 months. Provider: Hotjar Ltd.
  • Plausible Analytics (self-hosted) — privacy-friendly, aggregate visit statistics. Plausible is cookieless: it sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — performance measurement beacon; cookieless.

4. ADVERTISING COOKIES

  • Google Ads / DoubleClick — measures the effectiveness of our campaigns and supports remarketing. Cookie: _gcl_au, lifetime 3 months (related data may also be kept in browser local storage as _gcl_ls). Provider: Google.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measures the effectiveness of our campaigns on Meta platforms and supports remarketing. Cookie: _fbp, lifetime 3 months. Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.

5. THIRD-PARTY EMBEDDED CONTENT

Some pages embed content hosted by third parties, most notably YouTube videos. When such content loads or plays, the third party may set its own cookies and collect usage data under its own privacy policy (for YouTube, the Google Privacy Policy). We do not control these cookies.

6. MOBILE APPLICATION

The UNFINISHED mobile application does not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. It stores only the data necessary for you to stay signed in on your device, and, if you enable them, a push notification token.

8. HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES

When you first visit the Platform you are asked whether to allow or decline analytics and advertising cookies; nothing optional is set until you allow it. You can change your choice at any time by editing the cookies options at the end of the Cookie Policy page, or by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which will cause the banner to reappear.

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings: you can block all cookies, accept them case by case, or delete cookies already stored. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform (such as logging in) from working. Guidance for common browsers is available at allaboutcookies.org.

You can also opt out with the individual providers:
