Marius Șoflete is a young structural engineer specialized in wooden structures and passive house design. A former member of PRISPA – the first Romanian team who participated at Solar Decathlon Competition 2012, he founded Creative Engineering design office in 2013, based on 360 deg view design philosophy of constructions. After finishing structural engineering studies and master degree at Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, he studied timber construction and carpentry in Italy at Rothoschool, Passive House design in Hungary, craftsman studies at Transilvania Trust and took an Internship at Julius Natterer Ibois Center in Switzerland.
Most of the project done in the office were challenging or innovative projects în Romania that had a great impact on education and improving perception on sustainable buildings. In addition to projects, Marius is holding carpentry workshops with students from architectural schools, Passive house designer courses for future Certified Designers, he is attached trainer at National Order of Architects from Romania, where he is holding wooden structures courses and energy efficiency courses for architects. The last project now he is developing with Sandra a video blog channel for the Romanian building industry, with the goal of explaining as simple as possible – based on a childish representation of complicated physical phenomena related to designing a low energy and low environmental impact building.
