Marinela V. Ardelean is a wine critic, author and juror in international wine competitions such as Mundus Vini (Germany) and the Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards (South Africa). In her home country, Romania, she is known for organizing RO-Wine |The International Wine Festival of Romania, while in Italy, her second home, she is one of the wine curators for the notorious Merano Wine Festival. Representing Foss Marai as Brand Manager since 2012, she has also recently become Global Brand Ambassador for the Romanian Vinars Brancoveanu, a high-end range of wine distillates.
As an author, Marinela debuted in 2014 with an out-of-the-box bilingual edition of 50 Romanian Wines Meet 50 Italian Dishes, awarded by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and ranking second best wine book of the year by the Gourmet Drinks Awards. The next year, the first edition of The Wine Book of Romania reached the shelves, becoming the first comprehensive annual guide to the top Romanian and Moldovan wines. Her articles were published by prestigious magazines as Dilema Veche, National Geographic, BBC Good Food etc.
With more than a decade of experience in the drinks business, Marinela V. Ardelean is a graduate of both Economics and Law courses, as well as classes in Psychology, knowledge later joint in an Executive MBA in Wine Industry. She has been awarded the title of Dame Chevalier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne and currently, she pursues a PhD title at the Timisoara University, researching The Influence of Wines in Building and Developing a Country Brand.
As a professor, Marinela V. Ardelean trains students at the Italian Chef Academy in Champagne culture and Leadership, but she also hosts private courses, seminars and masterclasses, mostly about sparkling wines and Mediterranean and European wines.
