  • Nicknamed the grandfather of performance art and internationally known for his seminal one-year-long performances, Taiwanese artist Tehching Hsieh presents a lifetime of high-stamina projects.   • With a mixture of ashtanga and hatha yoga, "Yoga of Presence" is a practice that aims at finding harmony in both the body and the mind in order to allow us to perceive, to notice and to be interested in Presence, a word I use to describe the sense of peace and satisfaction that can be found in oneself independent of what may or may not happen outside. Presence is another word for freedom.

  • A 3 day sensorial installation / workshop exploring normative methods of productivity and ideation in a faux corporate environment. As the corporate environment shifts to being an increasingly performative endeavor, "Office Hours" will examine the effect of pure conceptual exploration on the biological surroundings. Using plant sonification technology as a metaphor for the traditional “water cooler”, we will transform the space into an environment that responds in real-time to the input/output of a participant’s involvement. Over the course of 3 days, participants will produce work based on different prompts in an effort to effect the dynamics of their corporate environment.

  • A performance, in homage to Romanian sculpture Constantin Brancusi's infamous piece, using a newly developed method of measuring a space by kissing it every 40cm. The result, a performed drawing, will be henceforth be exhibited as part of the UNKNOWING KNOWNS | KNOWING UNKNOWNS exhibition.

  • In Herman Melville’s words, “a thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.” The speed of our technology revolution comes with great potential yet heavy responsibility. The speakers on this panel will discuss how, in a hyperconnected world of twitter politicians, smart homes, fake news, big data and online healthcare, campaigns and communities, their respective industries handle connectivity and particularly the risk of disconnecting physically while connecting virtually.

    Can you impact on your own happiness? Most of us have grappled with career goals, relationships and even our own happiness. But how many of us have taken the time to really explore what can make us happy? Would it be meditation, therapy, drugs, or something else? Could you achieve happiness by design? Turning himself into a design project, New York-based designer Stefan Sagmeister attempts to change his personality to become a better person. And in the process he takes us on a personal journey to find out what causes happiness. Things don't go as planned.
